Keynote Panel in the House

This just in: our keynote panel has been confirmed. And it’s going to be amazing.

Maxwell Gillingham-Ryan, founder of Apartment Therapy.

Grace Bonney, founder of Design*Sponge.

Jean Aw, founder of NotCot.

Among the three of them, we’re looking at something crazy like 5 or 10 million (or is it 20?) social media impressions each month. You will want to hear what they have to say. To learn from their collective wisdom. You will not want to miss this. Period.

Happy Thanksgiving from Alt

You know what we’re thankful for? That so many people have gotten the word out about Alt. On Twitter. On their blogs. Shouting from their rooftops.

If you’d like to help spread the word as well, we’d very much appreciate it. So much so, that we’ll even reward you with great prizes.

That’s right, the Spread the Word and Win Big contest is still happening. You can enter through December 5th. You can find out how to enter and what the prizes are by clicking here or scrolling down.

We hope your Thanksgiving day is full of cranberry sauce and yams. With marshmellows.

Snow Forecast = Thumbs Up

We’ve already had a decent amount of snow here in Salt Lake — in these parts that’s a sure sign of a fantastic ski season ahead. Which is good news for all of us.

You know what else is good news? The fact that you can come to Alt and then double dip and go to the Sundance Film Festival as well. I mean come on — how cool is that? Have you ever been to Sundance before? (And been able to write it off as business expense?)

This is a 100% don’t miss opportunity.

Tickets to Sundance Screenings are Available Now

They just started selling yesterday. Have you bought yours?

You’ll be in Utah anyway. You might as well do a little celebrity sighting between conference sessions. In fact, the Capitol Theatre — one of the Sundance hotspots — is located just a couple of blocks from the Alt Summit Hotel. It would be the perfect place to catch a screening.

Sundance tickets are typically around $25. You can get yours here.

One fan got the photo above of Jane Krakowsi and Evan Rachel Wood posing for a photo at the Sundance Screening of Pretty Persusion.

Today’s big news:
On November 1st we received approx 1 billion emails (possibly it was less
than that) getting on our case for shutting down the early bird discount.
They arrived with messages like: Dudes. I just heard about Alt and haven’t even
had time to check my calendar. And I’ve already missed the early bird
discount? Not cool.
And we said. You’re so right. It’s not cool at all.

So we’ve extended the early bird special. Woot! Sign up before
November 20th and you can still get $100 off registration.
Register here.

More good news: we’ll be updating the site this week with some of our
speakers. Watch for it. We think you’re going to like what you see.

Registration is Open!

You’ve heard the buzz. Why isn’t there a conference geared toward design bloggers? Lifestyle bloggers? People that like pretty pictures as much as pretty words?

We heard you. Because we’re part of the community. And we were saying those things too.

Plus. We wanted to meet you. We’ve been reading your blog forever. Following you on twitter. Basically stalking you. We’ve met all our favorite writers at conferences across the country. But we wanted to meet our favorite designers, stylists and creatives too.

So we started a conference. Especially for you. And we’re going to bring together every cool blogger and design expert we can find. To talk about design. Where it’s been. Where it’s going. How it’s been affected by blogging and flickr and tumblr and all the other new medias.
